KikFit4Kidz is the brainchild of Ken Pankiewicz who has been practising martial arts for almost 40 years. Today, he’s a well-regarded figure in the martial arts community, both in the UK and internationally and is ranked 7th Dan in KickFit Blend and Blue Belt in Ju-Jitsu. It is Ken’s belief that martial arts should be more than just a physical workout – and instead should be a life-enhancing programme of continuous development and it is this belief that has shaped the KikFit4Kidz ethos.

In classes, students are not only trained in physical martial arts disciplines they also have the opportunity to learn valuable life skills, allowing them to lead more fulfilling lives.

Almost half of children and young people (46.8 per cent) in England are doing the recommended average of 60 or more minutes of physical activity a day.

The ideal KikFit4Kidz franchisee

You need passion, drive and an ethos based on your desire to educate children in a fun way. You will have a positive attitude and the determination to succeed. It goes without saying that you must be good with people and children, as well as being honest, reliable, and keen to run your own business.

Working with children you must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

As a hands-on operator you must also be physically fit and ready for a challenge. The right candidates will be consistently learning new skills and improving all round. For our hands-on owner / operators previous martial arts experience is a bonus, but by no means essential.

Training & Support

Training covers all key aspects of running the business; your operational induction will take place at KikFit4Kidz head office over 2/3 days in Slough, followed by a week of martial arts training at a local venue.

The training encompasses essential and practical areas, such as business start-up, sales, marketing, planning and development, as well as technical and operational aspects, and is designed to give you sufficient knowledge to confidently begin trading as a KikFit4Kidz franchise.

With any franchisee it is important that we have frequent, open and honest communication as we are dependent on each other for the ultimate success of your franchise and the network as a whole. You will be supported with a wealth of resources to assist with lesson planning, course development, and quality assurance, with additional products & services in on-going development to further enhance your business.

The KikFit4Kidz franchise can be run as a ‘hands-on’ owner / operator / instructor operation OR as a ‘hands-off’ management franchise, where you employ qualified instructors while you manage the business. You will get assistance from HQ to find, negotiate leases for the hire of the locations where you will need to hold your classes; these can be, for example, primary or secondary schools; community centres, or sports centres.

The investment

The KikFit4Kidz franchise has a low franchise fee of just £9,500 (+VAT). This includes all your admin and intensive martial arts training. Plus training equipment starter, and marketing material.

You will need to allow for some working capital to cover personal expenses while you establish your business; finance is available through third parties, should you need it, however, you could also qualify for a Government backed Business Start-Up Scheme which will allows people to borrow up to £25,000 without investing any money of their own, and this figure doubles if the business has two Directors.

You can grow your business at a rate that suits you with the potential to achieve an average net profit of over 50%.
