British care firm launches new training initiative to tackle industry-wide recruitment crisis
Caremark – a leading home care provider with over 120 branches across the UK– has taken positive steps to address the country’s current care industry recruitment problem and bolstered its existing franchisee training, by launching a new High-Performance Leaders programme and guest speaker seminars.
Preparing its existing and new franchise owners for issues they may face now and in the future, Caremark teamed up with top online recruitment experts Indeed for its first guest speaker seminar of 2023. Held at Indeed’s offices in London on 28th June, the full-day session tackled the notorious industry struggle of recruitment, exploring how to maximise the tools available, increase efficiency and maintain staff retention.
The launch of the new High-Performance Leaders programme is a result of the company’s appointment of Tracey Underwood as Leadership and Management Coach. It gives each franchisee ample opportunity for face-to-face learning, feedback and networking amongst peers to gain insight from colleagues across the UK. The nine-month programme covers HR skills, financial awareness, strategic thinking, coaching and mentoring a team, creating a great team culture, and more.
Tracey comments:
“The number of vacant posts in adult social care has increased by 52% between 2021 and 2022. The figure is now the highest since records began, and on any given day, it’s estimated that there are around 165,000 vacancies within the industry.
“From years of experience, we know that the most successful businesses have good, dedicated teams around them, so our in-depth training gives franchise owners a chance to think strategically about their business and understand how culture impacts performance.
“The opportunity to develop ways to improve recruitment with Indeed has proven an extremely valuable addition to our wider programme. Our franchisees came away from Indeed’s seminar empowered with new expertise to strengthen their approach to recruitment, discovering how to implement an effective recruitment strategy, completely tailored to their individual franchise area.”
The introduction of these seminars and the training programme demonstrates the company’s unwavering commitment to supporting its franchise owners.
David Glover, Caremark’s Joint CEO, talks about the importance of this venture:
“We understand that the success of our franchise owners is directly tied to the success of our support. That’s why supporting them is not just a priority; it’s our passion. We are dedicated to helping our franchise owners achieve their goals and grow their businesses, which is a key advantage that, in our opinion, sets Caremark apart from other franchisors.”
