Friends for Pets

“I bought the Friends for Pets franchise for Chew Valley and North Somerset in January 2019. I’d had a long career in health and social care and was pretty confident about my ability to organise things but I was a novice to the world of pet services.

Looking back buying into Friends for Pets was a very GOOD decision. Firstly, when starting up a business there is a lot think about. The obvious things are more easy to plan for, but there are a lot of other less obvious things which, if not sorted out, could create more difficulties further down the line.

A few people asked me why I would want to pay a % of my turnover to someone else? The answer is obvious – when challenges or problems arise Becca is on the phone, other franchise managers are there and they can and have assisted with finding solutions. Not having to worry about how to do some of the basic things like branding, record keeping and basic forms means I was able to go straight into building up my business and generating new customers, which obviously means income. I think without this I would have ended up with an uninspiring company name, a horrid logo and could have worked for 6months without actually delivering any services and earning any money.

I wouldn’t have changed my career and set up my own business without the support of Becca Wilson and Friends for Pets. Tapping into her experience has been invaluable, it made the whole change of lifestyle less risky. Its also really nice to have a team of people who are good fun and have someone to share the ups and downs. I’m really happy I joined the Friends for Pets “family”.”

“I joined Friends For Pets in 2017 and have not looked back since.

At the time, I was working full time as a solicitor and really wanted a move away from the corporate world. I have always been a huge animal lover and whilst looking for new pet care for my two miniature dachshunds, I came across Friends For Pets. I made a request about becoming a franchisee and I now run two really successful territories, with another one being set up.

This opportunity really has changed my life – I love the challenges that running my own business brings and the satisfaction in seeing it grow and succeed.

I won a Customer Service award in my first year and was short listed for two other huge national awards in the pet care industry. None of this would have been possible without Becca’s support and dedication and I will be forever grateful for what she has helped me achieve in such a short space of time. It has been incredibly hard work but also extremely rewarding.

I have a fantastic team of local people from all walks of life who offer pet care to a diverse range of clients and their pets. If you’re willing to put in hard work and you have a passion for animals, then the sky really is the limit!”
